Communication Skills for Business Professionals
My career in real estate has included owning private real estate companies, serving as a corporate officer for two national real estate franchise systems, and helping to create a start-up commercial real estate web site transaction platform.
I was most recently President of RIISnet, a unique web based commercial real estate transaction platform that facilitates large real estate transactions. My duties were initially to introduce our company and concept to our future users. Once operational I oversaw all company activities.
Prior to joining RIISnet, I served at the corporate level as Senior Executive Vice President for Prudential CRES, and before that, Vice President of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate.
I have earned the Commercial Real Estate designation of CCIM, Certified Commercial Investment Member of the CCIM Institute, and have I have been an instructor for the Institute for nearly 30 years and continue to teach both live and on line classes. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Institute and currently Chair the Ward Center for Real estate Studies.
I have also acquired the Certified Distance Education Instructor designation.

I work in the area of Communication Skills for business professionals. I help my clients become more profitable and successful by showing them how to be better speakers, listeners, and presenters. I prefer to train using 2-day sessions, but also work in ½ day and full day formats.

Whether you are in the boardroom, addressing a large group or one on one, the key to achieving your goal is not in your content, but your delivery. Learn how to communicate persuasively and effectively on the phone, in person and through written materials. The need for excellent talking, listening, and presenting skills cannot be over-emphasized.
The Communication Skills workshop will improve your speaking, listening, meeting, telephone, email, texting, report writing, and presentation skills.
The purpose of the “Effective Communication” program is to build all participants’ capacity to achieve their goals through effective communication and presentation.
The program will equip the participant with the communication and presentation skills necessary to achieve success. Participants will acquire greater confidence, and have opportunities to practice specific techniques and procedures during the program.
The primary communication areas are covered:
• Speaking skills
• Listening skills
• Presentation skills
This two-day process is a combination of presentations by Mark Polon on various communication skills strategies, exercises allowing the participants to practice the skills, and discussions to enhance learning about effective communication and presentation skills. Exercises, group feedback and self-disclosure enhance learning throughout this workshop.

Mark Polon brings over 40 years of business experience in training, sales, and marketing to the world of Communication Skills for Business Professionals. A brief history of my work experience follows.
Company Level Business Development
Mark Polon has over 40 years of business management experience, including 5 years corporate experience with two different National Commercial Real Estate Franchise Companies, Coldwell Banker Commercial and Prudential CRES. During this time he was responsible for training new companies' leadership and their sales teams and working with them to expand their scope of business and increase their profit margins. Both companies saw profit increases of more than 25% during his tenure.
As President and founder of Polon Ventures, now Polon Consulting, a company founded in 1985 specializing in training business professionals in the hard and soft skills necessary for a successful and profitable business and career, he has provided expertise and training to both new and seasoned participants in for and not for profit companies and organizations worldwide.
